The ledge is easy when you touch it, and the second I do manage to get a proper grip on it I've defeated hat. My problem I'd like to emphisis is the jump itself, not the ledge. My problem is that my pogo tends to be so weak from the rock that it doesn't go high enough to be able to reach the ledge at all, or only the very tip that's not a good place to grab as it should be further up on the ledge, half the time making me sail backwards instead of towards the ledge even though I positioned my hammer in a way that should make it go forward, but the slight slope on the rock doesn't give me proper height. The ledge is super easy to get onto once you actually reach it since it's just a less hard version of the ice hill which I get past quickly. I have no trouble getting on top of the ledge once I get the proper air to reach the ledge. I have over 100 and enjoy it every once in a while as a chill end for a annoying day maybe. When you just want the gold pot you dont really need to be quick. I most likely will never get a sub 10 min run. I'm going to practice just going for it more, and see how much momentum I can build and see if that helps, as well as launching myself off that one ledge instead of using a pogo like I've been doing as is what I believe you were discribing (which also makes a lot of sense since it's what I do to get that bigger jump when I skip right to stairs). (stopping just before the hat is a great way to get bounced back down) That actually explains a lot since I'm often so intimidated at the thought of messing up hat I tend to carefully place my diogenes in the right spot before doing the pogo where in other parts I'm more likely to just go with the flow with less pauses in movement. Once you do, it's very helpful to grab just below the hat and launch again to.here it comes.GET OVER IT. If you launch from that big edge further down, you can get some good momentum going, and add that to your pogo jump to get to the hat. That's how speed-runners get that extra OOMPH and make tough jumps with lots of room to spare. If you're moving when you do the pogo jump up to the hat, whatever speed you have carries into the jump. I'm confused because it seems like most people don't even put hat on their lists of hardest spots compared to things like anvil, orange, and ice wall, yet it's a consistent weakness for me. Is there a secret strategy for this part that I'm just not seeing? I tried youtube videos but it looked like they were doing the same thing I was doing with different results. Is there something I'm doing wrong to make my height jumped so inconsistent on this part alone? It seems to be irrelevant to how close I place my cauldron to the next rock as well, and am so confused since there isn't any other sections of the game that I can't do consistently once I understand the proper move, and almost seems random when I do get the proper height I need to swing my axe far enough into the right area. Is there some good strategies to consistently do the hat jump because I find that no matter how exact I place my pogo on the second from closest rock the way it's slanted makes it so half the time I barely get any altitude and he just does this small pathetic jump instead. Hat is the only area of the game that I can never jump properly the first time, and often flounder at that spot for awhile after getting through areas like orange and chimney without the slightest effort, then once I get past it I speed through the rest no problem. I've been trying to get quicker at the game as I want to get my gold pot, but have a single glaring flaw that comes up every time.
